Dan Sacco holds a M.F.A. in screenwriting from York University, and a Ph.D. in Communication and Culture from the joint program at York and Ryerson Universities. Alongside teaching screenwriting in the TFSO Video Production program, he has taught film history at George Brown College and sociology at Ryerson University.
He has also worked professionally in a number of industry contexts: as a film festival programmer, commercial set dresser, video editor, and script consultant. Dan is presently in post-production on his first feature film as writer/director, and is also currently writing a manuscript for Edinburgh University Press based on his doctoral research. His work has been published in several academic journals, and he is a member of the Global Horror Studies Research Network based at the University of Pittsburgh. He currently resides in Toronto.
